New Show in Starz

Starz (home to one of my favorites, Party Down) has a new show called, Gravity.  It’s about a group of people who have tried to commit suicide and are now learning how to live life.  Looks like it has potential:

Tune into Starz April 23rd

  • Celebrity Judges expected for Glee‘s Regional Season Finale [Ausiello Files]
  • Some Glee Premiere Party Pics… just because [TV Addict]
  • Tons of new pilots, including an HBO show from Phillip Seymour Hoffman [Futon Critic]
  • Diane Keaton in a new HBO pilot, Tilda [Ausiello Files]

More SNL Hosting News

Gabourey Sidibe will be hosting SNL.  No word on when yet, but I think this is a SNL I would actually tune in for.

Gabourey is also slated to be in a new Showtime show, called The Big C, starring Laura Linney as a teacher dealing with cancer slated to debut in August.

Good Luck Gabby!

More Beyond Gilmore Girls News

First Lauren Graham on Parenthood and now it looks like Melissa McCarthy will be starring in a new comedy pilot from Chuck Lorre (creator of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men) for CBS.

The show will be called Mike and Molly: “a pilot that is currently in production starring Billy Gardell as a fat, charming cop who meets the girl of his dreams at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.”

We all know Melissa was fantastic as Sookie on the Gilmore Girls and if you didn’t see her I thought she also did a great job as Dena in Samantha Who.  I hope this gets picked up.  Also glad to see a show about non skinny people who are actually not skinny 🙂

First Look at the Crim Minds Spin-Off

April 7th (CBS) Criminal Minds will be giving us a first look at its new spin-off starring Forest Whitaker. Whitaker will be playing “FBI profiler Sam Cooper who forms his own team of independent investigators after being away for several years”.  The episode will serve as the show’s pilot.

I’ve Been Waiting Patiently For News on This

TV Land has been working on a new primetime show entitled, Hot in Cleveland.  The show is scheduled to premiere in June and just recently signed on our beloved Betty White.

Betty White will take on the role of the snarky but lovable Elka Ostrovsky, property caretaker of the home that co-stars – Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick – rent after their plane makes an emergency landing in Cleveland and they decide to stay. Hot in Cleveland is written by Emmy Award-winning Suzanne Martin (Frasier, Ellen) and is produced by Emmy Award-winner Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills Productions. Hot in Cleveland, a TV Land PRIME original production has been picked up for ten episodes and is the network’s first venture into scripted comedy series.

Hot in Cleveland revolves around three fabulous, LA women of a certain age and best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick). Their lives are changed forever when their plane – headed for Paris – unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they soon rediscover themselves in this new “promised land.” Loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker of the property they have rented, played by Betty White.

This is Not a Joke…

…but I wish it was.  Animal Planet has teamed up with Heavy Weight Champion Mike Tyson in a new show (called Taking Tyson) tackling the dark and dirty world of… Pigeon Racing.  (I’m totally not joking)

Tyson’s passion for his pigeons takes my breath away,” marvels Marjorie Kaplan, president and general manager of Animal Planet Media. “For years, he has been inspired by these birds that he feels have the biggest heart’ in the animal kingdom. Taking Tyson peels back new layers of the remarkable persona and deep humanity of Mike Tyson while also showing us a whole world we never knew existed right on the rooftops of New York City.

And We’re Back!
