Love Me Some Betty White

and of course tributes to her!  Can’t wait to see her on SNL with Jay-Z May 8th!

Happy Sunday!

I’ve been on a Susan Harris binge all weekend, but before I write about it I want to just share one of my all time favorite clips from the Golden Girls.  Make sure to watch it all the way through…

Tuesday Pick Me Up

I thought some of these were funny.  It’s a gag reel from Friends.  Happy Tuesday!

RIP Dixie Carter

Dixie Carter of Designing Women passed away at the age of 70.  She played the outspoken and feisty Julia Sugarbaker.  (You may have seen reruns at some point on Lifetime or Nick at Nite)  She also guest starred more recently on Desperate Housewives.

Here is a favorite scene of mine of her standing up for her sister (Delta Burke’s character):

They Better Not F*ck It Up

On of my favorite shows of all time is Laverne & Shirley.  It’s one of my go to comfort light hearted situational comedies.  News has it that Jamie Foxx has gotten the rights to the show and is planning on making a movie.

Garry Marshall (who produced the original series)  has given Foxx his blessing and is planning on being a part of it as well.  The movie is set to star Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel.  Marshall says:

Jamie and I are trying to do it. He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times.

Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley

I’m not sure about this…

Rosie Coming Back to Daytime

It looks like Rosie O’Donnell will be coming back to daytime television in the fall of 2011 when Oprah is out.  It seems that the format will be very similar the old (wildly successful) Rosie O’Donnell Show.  I know I used to love that show and I would hope that she could have the same success with this one.

I Wish People Today Would do This…

This is something floating around the interweb today thanks to comedy writer Ken Levine.  Jackie Gleason (I love The Honeymooners!) hosted a game show on CBS called, You’re in the Picture.  The show was awful and when the second episode was supposed to air, Jackie came on and personally apologized for how awful the show was.  This then was turned into a talk show, but come on how many people would you like to come out and apologize for making awful television?  (I’ve got a couple in mind…)

And We’re Back!
